Acoustic/Noise Monitoring

Sound or Community Noise Studies measure and quantify the sound environment. They are useful for determining noise sources and their impact on the surrounding area. Aside from the sound of blasting, other factors contribute to concerns in your jobsite surroundings. Stationary and mobile equipment, plant operations, increased traffic noise can all affect your neighbors and ultimately, your operation. Sound studies conducted by DRS technicians can include LEQ' LDN' L10' L50' L90 data as well as other descriptors for community noise. Like all of DRS Consultant services, sound studies are designed around our clients’ needs.

  • Local Planning commissions, prior to the approval of construction projects or the issuance of building permits, often require sound studies.
  • Compliance with local ordinances or construction specifications.
  • Determining the effectiveness of sound-attenuating devices such as beams and barriers.

Dust Monitoring

Automated dust monitors provide real-time data to assist and document dust mitigation at construction sites. This can also be an option for property owners near particularly dusty jobsites.

Optical Monitoring

AMTS (Automated Motorized Total Stations) transmit high-precision measurements from project sites to project websites. They provide automated optical monitoring of displacements, deformation, and settlements. Uses can include highway, railroad, bridges, tunnels, new construction, and construction near sensitive locations.

Jobsite Cameras

Construction site cameras record videos during construction activities and during the off hours. They provide a record of progress, enhance site security, document incidents and weather delays, and complement instrumentation.
